who are we??
we’ve been challenging people to get short films out of their head and on to a screen since 1999. entrants make a short film on one roll of super 8, with only in-camera editing and no post-production. it’s not for the faint hearted! our 2023 competition is open now here.

we will contact the winner via email within 7 days. the winner will have 72 hours to claim their place, or we’ll choose another winner at random.
delivery:
this competition is open to residents of the UK and the EU only - this is to ensure that the winner has time to receive their prize, shoot their entry and get it back for the march 21st deadline.
physical prize delivery will be in line with the relevant prize partner’s standard delivery policy. if your location is not covered within this, then we apologise but we will redraw that portion of the prize. import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are not included in the prize and will be the responsibility of the winner!
straight 8 entry and Camera Crate digital voucher do not require shipment, it is the prize winner’s responsibility to deliver their film to us for processing / competition entry. physical film reels will not be returned, except by special arrangement at cost.
