ROBBIE RYAN
Born and raised in Ireland, Robbie decided to become a cinematographer at the age of 14, when he, his friends and his cousins commandeered one of his father’s Kodak Super 8 cameras and started making short films. A college course in Cinematography in Dunlaoghaire's CAD fueled that passion. After finishing his college course, Robbie left Ireland and headed to London. The rest is History!
Awards: SLOW WEST (director John Maclean) 'Grand Jury Prize' in the World Cinema Dramatic section of the 2015 Sundance Festival
I, DANIEL BLAKE (director Ken Loach) Palme d'Or award Winner - Cannes Film Festival 2016.
AMERICAN HONEY (director Andrea Arnold) Cannes Jury Prize winner 2016.
THE FAVOURITE (director Yorgos Lanthimos) Academy Award Nomination - Best Cinematography
Robbie is back on our jury for a second year and is a great proponent of shooting on film, improvisational camera ‘attitude’ and pushing the form be it aspect ratio or whatever.

She has also been a short film programmer for Sundance Film Festival since 2010 and has over 15 years experience tracking new talent and developing new directorial voices.
